& Operatic Society
While the first few weeks will focus on music rather than 'production', music rehearsals will be staggered throughout the entire rehearsal run. As a consequence, and like our choral performances, you should aim to attend a minimum of 75% of the rehearsals to participate in the show, along with some mandatory dates.
We ask all participants to complete an NA ( Not Available) form. Please complete an NA form as soon as possible, not later than 31st December, in order that a rehearsal schedule can be drawn up around everyone's availability.
NB:The NA form also gathers questions about your measurements for costumes so please complete it even if you can make all the rehearsals. The NA form is your 'commitment' to the production. Please avoid making any changes after submission.
The NA form will be live in due course and will be found by clicking the button at the top of this page.
COSTUME CALL: Our initial costume call will be on the afternoon of Sunday 13th March. You will need to ensure you are available for this. We will allocate people a time slot between 2pm & 5pm.
Unlike our choral performances, by exception and at the discretion of the director(s), you may be able to miss additional rehearsals, but this may mean you are unable to participate in certain scenes.
These will be on Weds 7.30pm-10pm and potentially a few Thursdays, (this could be for chorus and/or principals).
These will be held on Sunday 23rd January. These are for principal roles only. There is no formal audition for chorus/company. If you are new to the society we will ask you to undertake a voice trial to check you're in the right section.
(Very occasionally, by exception and at the Musical Director's discretion, we reserve the right to ask someone not to sing/perform)
Principal auditions will be held on this day only. Decisions will be made based on the auditions on that day.

Get in will be Monday 30th , with limited cast commitment, if any.
The Tech rehearsal will take place on the Tuesday evening, with the dress on Wednesday, and then the shows on Thurs, Fri, Sat.
Cast commitment for show week is therefore 5 consecutive evenings for most people.

Voice of Audrey II (offstage)
Subs for the 20 weeks will be £95 (just £4.75 per week).
These should be paid in full by 31st Jan or in 2 stages £45 by 31st Jan and the balance by 30th March. Students in full time education - £25
Did you know? Typically our staged productions have costs of around £11,000 to present. As a G&S we save almost £2000, as there are no performance rights to pay compared with Evita/Chess. The show will still have production costs in the region of around £8,500. To help us ensure we can cover these costs we undertake a number of initiatives:-
Event Sponsor-For the past few years we have been lucky enough to have the support of Bicester Village as official event sponsor, with their logo on posters, tickets & programmes. We' hope to be able to confirm that once again we have their support.
Adverts - We need adverts for the programme. Costs & advert sizes:
